The Kind Foundation Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected on The Kind Foundation Inc. (the “Foundation”) websites, on which it appears.  This policy also applies to information collected by or on behalf of the Foundation offline as well as through The Kind Foundation branded pages on third party platforms (e.g., social networking services), mobile applications, and applications accessed or used through such websites or third party platforms which are operated by or on behalf of the Foundation (collectively, “Foundation Sites”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected by or on behalf of the Foundation, how such information may be used and/or shared with others, how we safeguard it and how you may access and control its use in connection with our charitable activities and marketing communications.

Your use of the Foundation Sites constitutes your acknowledgement of this Privacy Policy and the practices it describes.

1. WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM AND ABOUT YOU
There are several ways we may obtain information about you:

Information You Provide To Us
There may be features of Foundation Sites (such as making a purchase or applying for a job) where we may ask you to provide certain information so that we may provide those services to you. We may ask for information when you register to create an account, update your information, sign up for a subscription, use certain features, access, upload or download content, purchase products or services, enter into promotions or register for competitions, fill out a survey, refer others to the Foundation, request customer support (by email or in writing) or otherwise communicate with us.  Below are examples of information you may directly provide to us:

  • Contact and demographic information:  your name, address, phone number(s), email address and other information about you or your organization.
  • Information to complete a donation: Shipping address and other contact information

You may decide to provide us with another person's name, email or phone number so that we may help facilitate a donation request or for other reasons.  Local law may require you to obtain the consent of your contacts to provide their personal information to the Foundation, who may use that information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

It also provides us with information about your interactions with the Foundation’s products and services, other Foundation website users, as well as advertising and products or services offered through or linked from the Foundation website. This information helps us keep the Foundation website interesting to our visitors and allows us to tailor content to a visitor’s interests.

Device Identifiers: We may automatically collect your IP address or other unique identifier (“Device Identifier”) for the computer, mobile device, tablet or other device (collectively, “Device”) you use to access the Foundation Sites, including the hardware model and mobile network information. We may use a Device Identifier to, among other things, administer the Foundation Sites, help diagnose problems with our servers, analyze trends, target advertising, track users’ web page movements, and help identify or gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
